Labour Leadership Women’s Hustings 0

Posted on September 11, 2010 by FWN

On 8th September, the Fabian Women’s Network hosted the Labour leadership women’s hustings in partnership with Lead for Women and the Labour Women’s Network. Around 200 women attended to hear each of the leadership candidates answer questions ranging from how they voted on gender quotas for the shadow cabinet earlier in the day, their experiences of ‘macho culture’ in the Labour Party and how the party should respond to international abuses of women’s human rights, highlighting in particular the case of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani.

The event received write-ups by Rowenna Davis in the New Statesman, Claire French for Left Foot Forward and by blogger Delilah. The hust was also live-tweeted using #lead4women.
